Your Future is Filled: Overcoming the Negation Within You
Andy’s ongoing project, YOUR FUTURE IS FILLED, explores both the healing potential and corporate baggage of new age and ambient genres, and is composed of a mixture of video work, print ephemera, and participatory sculpture. The submitted excerpt, “Overcoming the Negation Within You,” is one of several self-help seminars whose messages were produced by feeding hundreds of “positive affirmations” from business-oriented self-help websites into a predictive text generator.
Artist Bio
Andy Zuliani is a queer ambient musician, multi-media artist, and primary caregiver who lives in “Vancouver”: a colonial fiction located on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. His work is deeply invested in modes of collective healing and care, and hopes to
bring these about through immersive, communal experiences. Along with Max Ammo, Andy co-runs Outer Spaces, a virtual performance and artist residency space dedicated to providing a platform for non-binary, queer, trans, and otherwise non-gender-normative and marginalized performers.
